Political Coordinator

The Political Coordinator is a member of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee’s National Political Team. The Political Coordinator reports to the National Political Director and will join a team that is responsible for engaging key stakeholders across the country. The Political Coordinator role is a linchpin of the team, helping keep us on time, on task, and anchored in our strategy.

General Coordinator Duties Include:

  • Manage schedule, travel, and correspondence for the Political Director and other political staff
  • Serve as point person for tracking political staff tasks, priorities, and action items
  • Participate in external meetings with allies and key stakeholders, provide and track notes from meetings, and fulfill action items
  • Track key relationships and engagement done by political staff
  • Assist in assigning duties to political interns
  • Assist in communicating updates to other departments at the NDRC
  • Facilitate any IT or operations needs for political staff
  • Manage Zoom meetings and webinars, as needed

Material Creation and Editing – The political cordinator will be responsible for:

  • Creation and editing of event memos and materials
  • Assist in the creation of presentations
  • Copy editing memos, presentations, and other materials

Electoral – The political coordinator will have an important role in the execution of the NDRC’s political strategy, including:

  • Assisting with the NDRC endorsement request process
  • Tracking important dates
  • Compiling data from various sources
  • Tracking outreach efforts


  • Minimum four years of related nonprofit or campaign experience
  • Experience volunteering or working for progressive or democracy-focused organizations a plus
  • Experience managing scheduling and other logistics in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid written and oral communications skills as well as strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Proficiency with Google suite tools, Slack, and Zoom
  • Experience working remotely with multiple team members a plus
