In Washington, Democrats need to gain enough power in the legislature to pause the state’s commission process so they can be in a position to enact countermeasures to Republican mid-decade gerrymanders. Dems in the legislature need to achieve a supermajority in both chambers, which requires them to win 3 seats in the state senate and 7 seats in the state House.
