Washington, D.C. – Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), announced his endorsements in the 2026 Texas Gubernatorial and State House elections. These endorsements are part of the NDRC’s Democracy Defenders program, a campaign supporting candidates running for state-level offices critical to safeguarding and strengthening democracy. The full list of endorsements can be viewed HERE.

“The mid-decade gerrymandering crisis Governor Abbott and Texas Republicans ignited last year has diminished the voting power of millions of Texans. This November, Texans have a critical opportunity to not only hold Texas Republicans accountable for this egregious power grab, but also lay a path forward to restoring representative democracy in the Lone Star State,” said Eric H. Holder Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC). “By electing these pro-democracy candidates up and down the ballot this year, Texans can prevent the threat of even more partisan and racial gerrymanders in the future. I’m proud to support these impressive candidates, who will fiercely advocate for every Texan’s rightful representation. Vote for these Democracy Defenders this November.”
