Eric Holder Announces Endorsements for Georgia Governor and State House

Washington, D.C. — Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), announced his endorsements in the 2026 Georgia Gubernatorial and State House elections. These endorsements are part of the NDRC’s Democracy Defenders program, a campaign supporting candidates running for state-level offices critical to safeguarding and strengthening democracy. “The race by Republicans across the country to manipulate maps in their party’s favor and do real-world damage to the everyday lives of Americans is not over, and in the 2026 midterms, Georgians have a chance to fight back at the ballot box by electing leaders who will protect against egregious partisan and racial gerrymanders in the Peach State,” said Eric H. Holder Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC).  “For far too long, Georgia Republicans have pursued an aggressive anti-democracy agenda, from gerrymandering to enacting extreme voter suppression laws, that favors the rich and powerful while Georgians have been stuck with higher prices, less health care and national corruption. One-party rule has not worked. 

“In stark contrast, if elected in November, Keisha Lance Bottoms and other democracy defender candidates running for the Georgia House of Representatives will put an end to Republicans’ anti-democracy agenda in Georgia by standing up to Donald Trump and pursuing policies that expand both the right to vote and real-world opportunities for the many,” Holder continued. “The choice in this election could not be more clear. Vote to elect Keisha Lance Bottoms for Governor and the other Democrats running for state and local offices. It’s time for a change, Georgia!”
