Eric Holder Announces Endorsements for Arizona Governor and State Legislature

Washington, D.C. — Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), announced his endorsements in the 2026 Arizona Gubernatorial and Legislative elections. These endorsements are part of the NDRC’s Democracy Defenders program, a campaign supporting candidates running for state-level offices critical to safeguarding and strengthening democracy. “This November, Arizonans have a chance to elect a state government that is responsive to the people and to reject the partisan chaos emanating from Washington,” said Eric H. Holder Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC). “For years, extremists in the Arizona legislature have disregarded the will of the people to pursue an extreme, anti-democracy agenda pushed by politicians in Washington that embraces election denial, aims to undermine the right to vote, and is wildly out of step with Arizonans’ political desires. 

“In contrast, Governor Katie Hobbs has built a strong record of protecting the right to vote for all Arizonans by, for example, preserving vote by mail and convenient ballot drop-off locations. She has also fought efforts, based on a false narrative, to make it much more difficult to register and to vote. Arizonans deserve more leaders like Governor Hobbs and democracy-defender candidates running for the Arizona Legislature, leaders who will stand up for their constituents instead of taking marching orders from politicians in Washington, D.C.,” Holder continued. “The choice in this election could not be more clear for the people of Arizona. Make your voices heard this November by voting to re-elect Governor Hobbs and also elect other Democrats to state and local offices who will stand for our democracy and protect the interests of the people of this great state.”
