Eric Holder Endorses Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh and Justice Noah Hood for the Michigan Supreme Court
Washington, D.C. – Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), announced his endorsement of Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh and Justice Noah Hood for re-election to the Michigan Supreme Court. This endorsement is part of the NDRC’s Democracy Defenders program, a campaign supporting candidates running for state-level offices critical to safeguarding and strengthening democracy.
Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the NDRC, released the following statement endorsing Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh and Justice Noah Hood for re-election to the Michigan Supreme Court:
“The unprecedented assault on the right to vote taking place across the country underscores the importance of Michigan having an independent state supreme court committed to protecting the people’s fundamental rights from power-hungry politicians. Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh and Justice Noah Hood have shown they’re up to the task.
“As jurists, Chief Justice Cavanagh and Justice Hood have demonstrated a commitment to fair-mindedness, the rule of law, and putting Michiganders first. Their records stand in stark contrast to their opponents, who are aligned with a radical agenda that threatens to undermine free and fair elections and roll back Michiganders’ rights.”
“Chief Justice Cavanagh and Justice Hood are the clear choice to entrust with the protection of democracy and Michiganders’ rights. Make your voices heard and re-elect Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh and Justice Noah Hood to the Michigan Supreme Court.”
