Eric Holder Endorses Judge Dan McCaffery for Pennsylvania Supreme Court
November 2, 2023
Washington, D.C. – Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), announced his endorsement of Judge Dan McCaffery for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Judge McCaffery’s endorsement is part of the NDRC’s Democracy Defenders program, a campaign supporting candidates running for state-level offices that are critical to safeguarding and strengthening democracy.
Recently, Judge McCaffery’s opponent was panned by the Philadelphia Inquirer Editorial Board for her refusal to be unequivocal in her acceptance of the 2020 presidential election results and to repudiate those in her party who continue to perpetuate the Big Lie.
Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the NDRC, released the following statement endorsing Judge Dan McCaffery for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court:
“There is no such thing as an off year for our rights, freedoms, or democracy, and this upcoming election in Pennsylvania is another example of that. In Judge Dan McCaffery, Pennsylvanians have someone who has dedicated their life to service, a military veteran, a fair-minded and impartial jurist, and a distinguished prosecutor, who will serve honorably on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Most importantly, Judge McCaffery will uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of all citizens.
“The contrast between Judge McCaffery and his extreme MAGA opponent could not be more clear. When given the opportunity, Judge Carluccio has refused to clearly accept the results of the 2020 presidential election, denounced mail-in voting, and opposed reproductive rights. With democracy and fundamental rights on the ballot in November, the stakes are high and complacency is not an option. In order to defend democracy, we must do democracy. All Pennsylvania voters must participate in this election and vote for Judge Dan McCaffery.”
