Washington, D.C. — Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), announced his endorsement of Justice Christine Donohue, Justice Kevin Dougherty, and Justice David Wecht for retention to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. This endorsement is part of the NDRC’s Democracy Defenders program, a campaign supporting candidates running for state-level offices critical to safeguarding and strengthening democracy.

Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the NDRC, released the following statement endorsing Justice Christine Donohue, Justice Kevin Dougherty, and Justice David Wecht for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court:

“In this election, voters will have a clear choice between a fair-minded, independent state supreme court majority that protects the freedoms of all Pennsylvanians, or one bought and controlled by billionaires and special interests. During their decade-long service on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht have fiercely protected free and fair elections, safeguarded fundamental rights, and held corporations accountable. Throughout their careers, each of them has put Pennsylvanians and the rule of law first.

“Vote YES this November to retain Justices Donohue, Dougherty, and Wecht—and to protect the Keystone State’s fair and independent judiciary from the billionaires and special interests that are trying to buy it.”
