Washington, D.C. – Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), announced his endorsement of Justice Jennifer L. Brunner for the Ohio Supreme Court. This endorsement is part of the NDRC’s Democracy Defenders program, a campaign supporting candidates running for state-level offices critical to safeguarding and strengthening democracy.

Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the NDRC, released the following statement endorsing Justice Jennifer L. Brunner for the Ohio Supreme Court:

“This November’s Ohio Supreme Court races could not be more consequential. Ohioans will have an opportunity to take a critical step toward restoring a fair-minded majority to their supreme court.  The alternative is to allow it to drift even further to the extreme right.

“I’m proud to support Justice Brunner, who has proven herself to be an impartial, independent, and extremely capable jurist who is committed to upholding the rule of law and the rights of the people. In stark contrast, her opponent is backed by powerful corporate and special interests seeking to weaponize the court to continue to roll back Ohioans’ most cherished rights—everything from reproductive freedom to workers’ rights and the right to vote in elections that are truly fair.

“No one can afford to sit on the sidelines during this election – the stakes are simply too high. Vote to re-elect Justice Jennifer Brunner to the Ohio Supreme Court this November.”
