Eric Holder Statement on David Crowley’s Victory in Wisconsin
Washington, D.C. – Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), released the following statement in response to the Wisconsin gubernatorial election results:
“Congratulations to Governor-elect David Crowley on his victory in Wisconsin. In the face of grave threats to democracy, Wisconsinites rejected an election denier who has repeatedly and actively tried to undermine the results of fair elections. Instead, they chose a leader who will bring people together, stand up for working families, and protect voting rights in the Badger State. Through their tenacious efforts, from organizing their neighbors to showing up at the ballot box, Wisconsinites have once again shown the country what it takes to defend our democracy, and I am confident that Governor-elect Crowley will make Wisconsin proud in the years to come.”
ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND:
Eric Holder and NDRC were deeply engaged in Wisconsin this cycle, beginning with the April Supreme Court race, where Holder campaigned for Judge Chris Taylor in Milwaukee, Janesville, and Kenosha and headlined a virtual fundraiser for her successful campaign.
Gubernatorial and state legislative races were also a top priority in the 2026 midterms for Attorney General Holder, who endorsed David Crowley and Democrats running for both chambers of the Wisconsin Legislature. Heading into the November election, Attorney General Holder supported GOTV efforts by highlighting these races on social media and joining a WisDems phone bank event to mobilize voters in competitive districts. In addition, NDRC supported GOTV efforts by sending texts to voters in key legislative districts.
NDRC and its affiliates directed more than $500,000 to the Badger State this year.
