Eric Holder Statement on Minnesota DFL Winning Trifecta Control of the State

Washington, D.C. – Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), released the following statement in response to the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party winning trifecta control of the state: 

“Congratulations to Governor-elect Amy Klobuchar and Minnesota Democrats on winning full control of the state’s government. In the face of grave threats to democracy and the egregious, inhumane abuses of power by the Trump Administration, Minnesotans have chosen bold leaders.  They will meet the moment and stand up to Donald Trump, and use their power to pursue policies that will make the lives of all Minnesotans better. Through their tenacious efforts—from protesting in the streets, to organizing to protect their neighbors, to showing up at the ballot box—Minnesotans have shown the country what it takes to beat back Republicans’ democracy-destroying agenda, and I am confident they will continue to lead by example in the time to come.”
