Rep. Jones was re-elected with nearly 80 percent of the vote in an August special election
Washington, D.C. – Today, counsel for state Rep. Justin Jones at Covington & Burling LLP sent a letter to Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton, demanding that the Tennessee House of Representatives immediately fully reinstate Rep. Jones to all rights, duties and privileges of his office, including all committee assignments. Rep. Jones was re-elected with nearly 80 percent of the vote in an August 3 special election, allowing him to return to office for the remainder of the legislative term. The letter is signed by Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States, C. William Phillips, and R. Gregory Rubio, who are providing counsel to Rep. Jones.
