Washington, D.C. — Today, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC) & Affiliates announced the launch of Redistricting Action, a new grassroots organizing platform to harness the momentum of growing opposition among the American people to President Trump’s manufactured mid-decade gerrymandering crisis.

“Republicans have forced an era of perpetual mid-decade redistricting on our nation, and new reality demands that citizens remain vigilant, engaged, and vocal in the fight to protect democracy,” said John Bisognano, President of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC) & Affiliates. “The gerrymandering crisis won’t end until Congress passes legislation that creates national standards for redistricting. That’s why we are launching Redistricting Action to harness the energy of the American people and end this crisis once and for all.”

In a memo to supporters, Bisognano explained that the launch of Redistricting Action is coming at a critical juncture in the fight to protect the voting power of the American people. He warned that in January 2026, as many as eight states could begin considering mid-decade redistricting, either as Republicans pursue egregious gerrymanders or as blue states move to counter them. That list includes: Kansas, Nebraska, Florida, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Virginia, Illinois, and Maryland. The full memo is available here
