NDRC Calls For Danny Moore To Resign As CO’s Congressional Redistricting Commission Chair

Social Media Posts Show Moore is Unfit to Serve

Today, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC) is calling for Danny Moore to resign as chair of Colorado’s Independent Congressional Redistricting Commission. Moore’s social media posts that promoted conspiracy theories about the 2020 election and the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as racially-charged posts about the COVID-19 virus that were featured in The Colorado Springs Gazette, show he is unfit for this critical role.

“Given Commission Chair Danny Moore’s conspiratorial social media posts he must resign as chair of the Congressional Redistricting Commission. No one can expect Moore to fairly oversee the Commission – whose decisions will be a significant factor in the next decade of Colorado politics – when he has openly and repeatedly questioned the integrity of the 2020 election results, despite no evidence whatsoever of widespread fraud,” said NDRC States Press Secretary Molly Mitchell.

“On top of spreading baseless theories about the election, Moore’s promotion of COVID-19 conspiracy theories and racially-charged posts render him unfit to represent all Coloradans, particularly given the rise in violence against the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. To protect the integrity of the Commission and live up to the promise of redistricting reform that was overwhelmingly supported by the people, Moore needs to step down,” continued Mitchell.
