Washington, D.C. — Today, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, Future Now Fund, Texas House Democratic Campaign Committee, The People PAC, and The Creative Resistance announced a new $1.1 million digital advertising campaign in support of 11 candidates running for office in the Texas House of Representatives.

In order to flip the Texas House of Representatives, Democrats need to flip nine seats.

“Texas has been one of the NDRC’s top political targets since we began our work three years ago — and for good reason,” said Kelly Burton, President of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee. “As one of the biggest and most gerrymandered states in the nation, manipulated maps in Texas both disenfranchise Texas voters and skew overall representation in Congress. We have a real chance to flip the Texas state House this November and prevent Republicans from once again drawing unfair, manipulated maps in Texas for the next decade.”

This effort is focused where strategic digital investments are most useful and is just one piece of NDRC and Future Now Fund’s larger overall investments in Texas. The digital ads will run on behalf of the following candidates, each of whom is endorsed by at least one of the partners:

Future Now Fund is building the power to improve Americans’ lives by winning state legislative majorities and working with them to achieve goals for the common good. Future Now Fund teamed up with the People PAC and the Creative Resistance to create Statehouse Media, a project to support state legislative campaigns with data-driven digital advertising. 

The Texas House Democratic Campaign Committee is the only organization led by grassroots elected officials, working arm-in-arm with local Democrats across the state solely dedicated to flipping the Texas House.
