NDRC: Ohio Commission Should Listen to Ohio Voters, Not Washington Insiders
Washington, D.C. — Today, John Bisognano, President of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), released the following statement encouraging the Ohio Redistricting Commission to listen to Ohio voters as it reconvenes this morning:
“Throughout this year’s redraw process, Ohioans have demanded an open, transparent process and a fair map. Thus far, they’ve seen neither from Ohio Republicans. The current map in Ohio is already unfairly rigged, and it’s clear that Republicans are considering drawing a gerrymander on top of a gerrymander. The politicians on Ohio’s redistricting commission have a choice: listen to Ohio voters and pass a map that reflects the will of the people, or cave to the partisan demands from Washington, D.C., to gerrymander Ohio even further.”
