Washington, D.C. — Today, John Bisognano, President of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), issued the following statement ahead of a vote in the U.S. Senate on the so-called SAVE America Act:

“This attempt to nationalize voter suppression is part of a broader Republican effort to rig the 2026 midterms, because they are terrified of facing the voters in November. From enacting egregious mid-decade gerrymanders to weaponizing the Department of Justice to now pushing an extreme anti-voter measure that would make it harder for all Americans to cast a ballot, Republicans are doing all they can to avoid accountability at the ballot box after pursuing an extraordinarily unpopular agenda. The Senate must reject this extreme voter suppression legislation.”
