NDRC Statement on Indiana Governor Calling for Special Session for Mid-Decade Gerrymandering
October 27, 2025
Washington, D.C. – Today, John Bisognano, President of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), released the following statement in response to Governor Mike Braun calling for a special legislative session to gerrymander the Hoosier State:
“Between the overwhelming opposition from Hoosiers and the relentless pressure from Washington—including but not limited to Vice President Vance taking two taxpayer-funded trips to the state, threats to cut federal funding, and phone calls from President Trump—Governor Braun clearly called this special session solely because he got orders from Washington. Hoosiers do not want a mid-decade gerrymander. Indiana legislators now have a choice: stand up for their constituents by rejecting a mid-decade gerrymander or cave to the White House by undermining the voting rights of their constituents.”
