AG Eric Holder Endorses Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States

July 22, 2024

Washington, D.C. — Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), released the following statement endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States:

“Vice President Kamala Harris is ready and fully capable to lead our country at this critical moment in our nation’s history. I’ve known and worked with her for many years. Throughout her career—as a tough and fair prosecutor, an effective Attorney General, a respected Senator—Vice President Harris has stood up to powerful special interests, fought to protect the fundamental rights of all Americans, and never wavered in her commitment to equality.

“Kamala Harris embodies the very essence of the best of America. We as a country have always strived to be better—to look forward, not backward, to embrace the challenges of the future and not shrink from them. I know Vice President Harris’ leadership will inspire countless individuals to dream bigger and strive for an enhanced, inclusive democracy.

“This election is not a traditional contest between two political parties. It is a stark choice between a tested leader who has consistently shown herself to be pro-democracy, pro-voting rights, and pro-freedom, and a convicted felon who shows disdain for all three.

“The journey ahead will not be an easy one. There will be disinformation to overcome and lies to counter. If we put in the effort we can overcome these obstacles. We must all do the necessary work to make Kamala Harris the next President of the United States. I am proud to endorse her and be a part of this historic effort.”
