September 4, 2025
Washington, D.C. — Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), announced his endorsement of 44 candidates for the 2025 Virginia House of Delegates election. These endorsements are part of the NDRC’s Democracy Defenders program, a campaign supporting candidates running for state-level offices critical to safeguarding and strengthening democracy. Each of these candidates signed the Fair Districts Pledge to support fair redistricting and reform in Virginia. The full list of endorsements can be viewed HERE.
Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the NDRC, released the following statement on his endorsements in the Virginia House of Delegates election:
“Given the real authoritarian threat that Trump poses and the compliant Republican Party that has enabled him, those who occupy state-level offices, including state legislatures, are critical to protecting our freedoms. This year’s Virginia House of Delegates elections will determine whether the Commonwealth can maintain a pro-democracy legislature that will safeguard fundamental freedoms and pursue commonsense, citizen-supported policies to make life better for all Virginians.
“I’m proud to support each of these candidates for the Virginia House of Delegates, who will put their communities first and are committed to defending democracy in the Commonwealth and the nation. The choice could not be clearer. The choice could not be more consequential. This November, make sure to vote and elect these candidates to the Virginia House of Delegates to protect democracy and grow the economy in the Commonwealth.”
