December 19, 2024

Washington, D.C. — Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), announced his endorsement of Jack Trammell and Kannan Srinivasan for the Virginia Senate and JJ Singh for the Virginia House of Delegates. These endorsements are part of the NDRC’s Democracy Defenders program, a campaign supporting candidates running for state-level offices critical to safeguarding and strengthening democracy.

Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States and Chairman of the NDRC, released the following statement endorsing Jack Trammell, Kannan Srinivasan, and JJ Singh for the Virginia General Assembly:

“There’s no such thing as an off-year when it comes to protecting democracy, and that fight is continuing to unfold in the states. Next month’s special elections will determine whether Virginia’s General Assembly will continue to protect fundamental rights and freedoms, including voting rights, reproductive rights, and gun safety measures, or if it will become a rubber stamp to Governor Youngkin’s efforts to dismantle all of them.

“Never forget that Virginians have the power to protect democracy in the Commonwealth and can do so by electing Jack Trammell, Kannan Srinivasan, and JJ Singh to the Virginia General Assembly. With so much at stake, be sure to get out and vote for Jack Trammell and Kannan Srinivasan for the Virginia Senate and JJ Singh for the Virginia House of Delegates on January 7th.”
