Today, Eric H. Holder, Jr., Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC) and the 82nd Attorney General of the United States, released the following statement on the effort by Republican legislators to impeach justices of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court:

“Republicans in Pennsylvania argued to protect their partisan gerrymandering before the state Supreme Court and United States Supreme Court and lost on both accounts. Their effort to impeach Pennsylvania Supreme Court justices who ruled in favor of fair congressional districts is nothing more than a blatant attempt of retribution. This brazen attack on an independent court by those who are afraid to face the people in fair elections undermines our democratic values and must be rejected.”
