NDRC Statement on Pennsylvania Legislative Reapportionment Commission’s Completion of the State Legislative Redistricting Process

Washington, D.C. – Following the Pennsylvania Legislative Reapportionment Commission (LRC) completing the state legislative redistricting process, National Democratic Redistricting Committee President Kelly Burton released the following statement:

“The commissioners who served on the LRC, led by Chair Mark Nordenberg, deserve praise for their service to the Commonwealth by conducting a fair and transparent process. The commission process can be messy – it requires scrutiny, public input, and intense debate. In the end, everyone has to compromise in order to produce a result. But that is how a commission is supposed to work and, in turn, it is a reflection of how American democracy should function.”
