Today, after a federal court ruled Gov. Scott Walker and the Wisconsin State Legislature must redraw the state’s illegal legislative boundaries before the 2018 elections, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee issued the following statement:

“This ruling is a dramatic rejection of the Republican gerrymandering that rigged Wisconsin maps for the past six years,” said Marc Elias, General Counsel for the NDRC. “The state legislature and Gov. Walker must have an open, bipartisan process that engages the public in fixing these illegal maps. The National Democratic Redistricting Committee will continue to advocate for a public process in Wisconsin and for undoing Republican gerrymandering across the nation.”
